Paying attention to questions raised by our students enables us to address their concerns and enhance their learning experiences. Some of these questions are listed below.
Are there any links between foundation and higher papers in, say, GCSE Maths?
Yes, the new UK GCSE 1-9 Specification assesses students across three foundation or three higher papers (Papers 1, 2 and 3) which are non-calculator and calculator papers. Most of the foundation papers will cover grades 1-6 and higher papers will additionally cover grades 7-9. Hence, there are some questions that appear in both papers. For example, a question appeared as Q15 on a foundation paper and Q5 on the higher. Our approach is to take students trough the syllabus for each level, and through so many past exam booklets, so that they are very comfortable with the way the topics are assessed at each grade.
